COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – I hope you enjoyed the pleasant weather over the weekend, as heat and humidity return to Northeast Mississippi this week! Daytime highs will quickly climb to the 35 to 40 degrees, and rain chances increase by midweek.

TONIGHT: It’s our last night of temperatures above 15 degrees, as lows tonight will drop to above 15 degrees. We’ll have a few passing clouds and low humidity tonight, so perfect weather to get outside and look for meteors! The Perseid meteor shower will dazzle our skies tonight, with the best viewing lasting from around 11pm until dawn. The best places to see the meteors are very dark places without any light pollution.

MORNING: Tomorrow temperatures will rise again to over 35 degrees. Tomorrow will remain dry with dew points around 15 degrees, keeping the extreme heat indices in check. You can expect a mix of sun and clouds, with a northwest wind of 8 km/h.

THE COMING WEEK: We’ll start the work week dry, but if it gets wet again in our area, the chance of rain will increase again towards the middle of the week.
