Virginia Tech Football receives commitment from Luke Stuewe, who has program connections

For the second time in three days, the Virginia Tech football team has added another talented athlete to its class of 2025. After receiving a late and surprise commitment from four-star North Carolina wide receiver Shamarius Peterkin, who chose the Hokies over ACC opponents North Carolina and North Carolina State. There were signs that Virginia Tech was making a late push, and in the end, it did.

On Sunday, the Hokies received another commitment from three-star athlete Luke Stuewe from Ohio State. He is a legacy recruit and the son of Michael Stuewe, who was a wide receiver for Virginia Tech from 1994-1997.

Stuewe chose the Hokies over Miami (Ohio), ending a year-long recruiting period after receiving offers from Virginia Tech last summer and Miami of Ohio this summer. It feels like it was a pretty easy decision for him, as he now gets to play in a prestigious program where his father played.

He has an older brother, Matt, who currently plays wide receiver for the Ohio Bobcats, and Luke had 17 catches for 317 yards before getting injured after just four games. He also plays safety on the defensive side of the ball and it’s not out of the question that he could get some action on that side down the road. He had four interceptions last fall before his injury.

Stuewe is Virginia Tech’s 17th recruit in the class of 2025 and 13th three-star recruit, while the Hokies also have four four-star recruits in the class. Pry and Fontel Mines and the team continue to build a strong class for the future.
