Viewers capture dramatic photos and videos of heavy rain and flooding across San Antonio

Heavy rains Tuesday morning caused water rescues, road closures and traffic congestion throughout San Antonio.

KSAT viewers captured some dramatic pictures and videos and posted them on the KSAT Connect page. Check out some of them below:

KSAT teams were dispatched to various hot spots, including along the Interstate 35 corridor in the northeast of the city.

Photojournalist Alex Gamez captured an image of a lone truck stuck in floodwaters covering the westbound lanes of Loop 410 at the Northeast I-35 Interchange north of Walzem Road, just before it crosses the eastbound lanes.

A block-colored car is said to have made it through the water but then stopped in the middle of the road.

Emergency crews were called to a water rescue at Perrin Creek on Loop 410 after a driver’s vehicle broke down there.

Near the McNay Art Museum, two vehicles were swept away and crashed into each other.

In the same area, heavy rains also washed away numerous garbage cans from people’s homes. The garbage cans ended up in a pile in the middle of North New Braunfels Avenue.

KSAT Weather crews report that a flash flood warning is in effect for north-central Bexar County until noon. More than two to four inches of rain fell in those areas Tuesday morning.

If you encounter running water on the road, remember: TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN.
