Law enforcement are trying to identify a package thief who stole a package containing four new cell phones from a doorstep in Ocala after apparently following a FedEx delivery truck into the area.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video this week showing the theft, which occurred on August 7, 2024.

The video shows a car following a FedEx delivery truck in the 600 block of Silver Pass in Ocala.

After the delivery truck leaves the area, the car stops on the street and the suspected package thief appears.

The man walks up the driveway and onto the porch, where he is seen grabbing a package. He then quickly jogs across the front yard and gets back into the car.

According to MCSO, the stolen package contained four brand new cell phones.

Last month, another package thief was observed stealing a package from a residence in southwest Ocala.
