CeeDee Lamb is waiting to be contacted by the Dallas Cowboys about signing a long-term contract before the start of the 2024 season.

“Still waiting for the call, but until then we’re working hard,” Lamb said in an Instagram video posted Friday.

“Control what I can control and that is being the best version of myself,” he added.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that Lamb and the Cowboys are “not too far apart” in their contract negotiations.

Lamb has missed training camp and Dallas may be motivated to make a deal to ensure he is on the field for his team’s Week 1 game against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer, that the team is “well positioned” with Lamb and that contract negotiations are “promising.”

“The facts are that I believe we’re going to come to an agreement,” Jones said of Archer. “I don’t want to speak for him. That’s what I’m trying to avoid. But we wouldn’t have offered him what we offered him if we didn’t want him to be here.”

Calvin Watkins from the Dallas Morning News reported on August 16 that Dallas had offered Lamb a contract worth “just under $33 million per season,” which would put him behind Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson as the second-most valuable wide receiver in the NFL (according to Spotrac).

After setting franchise single-season records with 135 catches for 1,749 yards in 2023, Lamb is currently expected to earn just under $18 million before becoming a free agent in 2025.

As the start of the regular season draws closer, Lamb and the Cowboys may be more willing to re-enter contract extension talks and secure his long-term future in Dallas.
