Victim of concrete house fire identified

Authorities have determined the identities of three people shot after their bodies were found in a home destroyed by fire in Concrete last week.

Police are still searching for a suspect, whom they have also identified.

They assume that he shot the victims before the fire was set.

Mount Vernon Police are leading the investigation.

Police report: Two teens injured in gang shooting at Grant County Fairgrounds

The victims are 52-year-old Erin Birman, her 19-year-old son Taylor Dawson and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Jillian Whitney Van Boven.

The Skagit County Coroner’s Office concluded that gunshot wounds contributed to her death.

According to police, the suspect, 49-year-old Jason M. Birman, Erin Birman’s husband, lived in the home.

Investigators believe he was there before the fire broke out on August 9.

After a search lasting several days in the rubble of the burned-out building, authorities announced the identities of the victims.

Investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Skagit County Fire Marshal, Snohomish County Fire Marshal and Sedro-Woolley Fire Departments assisted with the excavation.

The suspect is known to be an avid quad biker, but he and his vehicle have not been seen since the fire.

He drives a blue 1994 Chevy pickup with the Washington license plate C67636L.

A judge has issued an arrest warrant for Birman for the crime of premeditated murder.

Investigators are asking the public for help in finding him.

They say he frequently stays in Skagit and Whatcom counties, often has more facial hair and is thinner than in the recently released photo.

The fire in the house on SR 530 destroyed the building and caused significant damage to surrounding buildings and vehicles.

This made it difficult to recover the bodies of the victims.

The house stands on a nearly five-hectare, densely wooded property.

Authorities have searched the entire area with assistance from the Skagit County Search and Rescue Unit and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Aviation Division.
