OKC Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Canada suffered an 82-73 loss to France in the Olympic quarterfinals on Tuesday.
The U.S. men’s national basketball team will face Serbia in the semifinals of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris on Thursday.
The U.S. team advanced to the quarterfinals with a 122-87 win over Brazil on Tuesday. Serbia advanced with a 95-90 win over Australia in overtime on Tuesday.

Prediction USA vs Serbia in the semifinals of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris

Nikola Jokic is the best player in the world and is good enough on his own to give Serbia a real chance in this game. But no team is better equipped to make Jokic’s life difficult than the USA, who boast defensive-minded greats like Joel Embiid, Anthony Davis and Bam Adebayo.
And although Jokic will get some scoring help from Bogdan Bogdanovic and Vasilije Micic, it won’t be enough to keep up with the U.S. offense, which averages 109.8 points per game.
Team USA beat Serbia 110-84 in their group match. I predict that the USA will win this match as well and advance to the finals, where they will fight for their fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal.
Forecast: United States 107, Serbia 93

With Jokic leading one of the strongest offenses on the field, I think it will be exciting for a while. Serbia’s 89 points would be more than any other player against the USA.
But that’s exactly what it will look like in the end – a deficit that probably isn’t even worth mentioning by now. The USA, the most ruthless team in the field, barely lifted a finger and held all opponents under 87 points. On the other hand, they scored no fewer than 103 points and steamrolled Brazil when they scored 122 points on Tuesday.
Serbia and Jokic are likely to suffer an honorable defeat.
Forecast: United States 109, Serbia 89
