The United States Women’s National Team (US Women’s National Team) meets in the final of the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris – Football Tournament at the Stade de France in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The USWNT, seeking its fifth Olympic gold, has won all of its games so far at Paris 2024. The Emma Hayes-coached team topped Group B with three wins, including a 2-1 victory over the Matildas.
In the knockout round, the USA defeated Japan in the quarterfinals and Germany in the semifinals – both times 1-0.
The Brazil women’s national football team made it to the knockout stages as one of the two best third-placed teams in their group. They had lost two of their three matches in Group C after beating Nigeria 1-0 in their opening match.
However, Brazil put in two strong performances in the knockout rounds: first, they beat hosts France in the quarter-finals and later defeated Spain 4-2 in the semi-finals to reach the final at the Olympic Games for the third time.
USA vs. Brazil: Women’s football in direct comparison
This will be the third time the United States and Brazil have met in women’s soccer at the Olympics. In Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, the USWNT defeated Brazil to win a gold medal.
In total, these teams have played 40 competitive matches and the USWNT has won 32 of them. Brazil has only won three times.
Since women’s soccer was added to the Olympic curriculum in Atlanta in 1996, the United States has won four of the seven Olympic tournaments, winning a bronze medal at the last edition in Tokyo by defeating Australia in a playoff.
Brazil has now won two silver medals at the Summer Olympics.
