US Marshals make arrests in two separate cases in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – The U.S. Marshals Service arrested three suspects Wednesday morning in connection with two separate shootings, both of which occurred in Franklin County.

Officials said the first arrest was linked to a shooting near an auto repair shop in the 4000 block of Broad Street in Franklin Township.

Santiago Miguel Ramirez Ogando, 24, and Juan Carlos Rivera, 24, were wanted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service on charges of aiding and abetting murder and aggravated assault, according to Marshals Service officials.

Both men were arrested at a Uniontown hotel and taken to the Summit County Jail, where they await extradition to Franklin County, the Marshals said in a news release.

“Ogando is likely to face further charges because he is not an undocumented citizen,” the press release said.

Another arrest was related to a murder charge in connection with an altercation in Columbus.

Marshals Service officials say Isaiah Wharton-Howard had an altercation with the victim, whom he subsequently shot.

He was arrested in the 1400 block of Campbell Street in Sandusky, where he was hiding with friends, a news release said.
