The University of Akron women’s basketball team under the leadership of second-year head coach Ryan Gensler unveiled its non-conference schedule for the 2024–25 season on Monday.

Highlights of the non-conference schedule include seven Zips games at James A. Rhodes Arena, including the matchup against Michigan on December 20.

Akron opens its campaign on November 4 by hosting Georgia State in the second annual MAC-Sun Belt Challenge before traveling to Binghamton (November 7).


The Zips return to James A. Rhodes Arena to host Robert Morris (Nov. 13) and Cleveland State (Nov. 16) before embarking on a four-game road trip to close out the month of November. Akron visits Tennessee State (Nov. 22) and Bellarmine (Nov. 24) before competing in a two-day tournament hosted by Colgate (Nov. 29-30).


Akron opens a month-long, four-game home series in December, with the Zips hosting Slippery Rock (December 4), Canisius (December 7), Michigan (December 20) and Miami Hamilton (December 28).

Akron will end its non-conference schedule on February 8, 2025, when the Zips play an away test against an opponent to be determined in the MAC-SBC Challenge.

Season tickets for the women’s basketball team are available for the upcoming season for VIP floor seating only for $100 per seat at each home game. A season parking pass is included with the season ticket purchase.
