Juventus coach Thiago Motta had to make two substitutions in the first 11 minutes of a Champions League game against RB Salzburg after both Gleison Bremer and Nico Gonzalez sustained injuries.

The Brazilian central defender was the first to be substituted after just six minutes.

Lois Openda won a shoulder challenge and saw the Juventus defender accidentally twist his left ankle. The former Torino centre-back received medical treatment on the pitch before Federico Gatti was named as his replacement. According to Amazon Prime Video, Bremer’s injury could also affect his left knee.

A few minutes later, his teammate Nico Gonzalez suffered a muscle injury and was replaced by Portuguese winger Francisco Conceiçao.

The injuries to Bremer and Nico in the first eleven minutes also mean that Thiago Motta has already used two of three substitute places.
