Drivers are running out of time to take advantage of early bird offers for OOIDA’s upcoming Truck To Success course.
The three-day course – designed for prospective and current owner-operators – provides in-depth instruction on a wide range of topics designed to help you succeed in the transportation industry. Participants will learn the basics of developing a business plan, permits and licenses, insurance, drug and alcohol testing requirements, brokers and factoring, taxes and more.
This year’s course will be held October 22-24 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Blue Springs, Missouri. Both in-person and virtual participation is possible.
Of course, it’s worth registering early. Those who register before September 1st will receive $50 off the total price and a one-year OOIDA membership.
Andrew King, research analyst at the OOIDA Foundation and host of “Truck To Success,” says truckers get the most bang for their buck by attending the event in person.
“The ability to attend online is of course nice, but nothing beats being there in person. The networking alone makes the in-person option worthwhile,” King told Land Line. “Networking with the other attendees, vendors and OOIDA staff – not to mention getting to know our special guest this year, Jimmy Mac.”
For those attending the event in person, the participation fee is $495 and includes access to one year’s recordings of the course. Other benefits of attending in person include a guided tour of OOIDA and a live appearance by radio host Jimmy Mac. Each participant can bring a guest for an additional $150.
Online participation is available for a fee of $250. Virtual participants have access to the provided course materials for three months. Guests who participate from another location and require a separate login pay an additional $125.
