Truck flees scene after hitting pedestrians near Fort Bragg

A pedestrian was reportedly injured this evening when he was struck by a white truck towing a trailer near Fort Bragg. The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene after the incident.

The collision occurred around 7:01 p.m. near the intersection of State Route 20 and Babcock Lane, just east of Fort Bragg, according to traffic radio and the California Highway Patrol’s traffic accident information page.

Rescue teams are currently arriving at the scene. The extent of the injuries is unknown.


UPDATE 19:15: A passerby at the scene of the accident told emergency services that both the victim and the driver had left the scene of the accident. The victim also had a visible bruise on his head.


UPDATE 19:20: Fort Bragg Police are reportedly responding to a man bleeding from the face at Noyo Bridge, believed to be the victim of a hit-and-run accident.
