When will people finally learn…?

From the looks of it, the answer to that question is NEVER.

Check out what happened in this Reddit story… we think you’ll be impressed.

“About a year ago they subdivided one of my neighbors’ properties and problems arose.

At my house there were three (now four) houses that shared the same driveway and were surrounded by a fence on both sides so there was nowhere else to go.

The guy who built the house came to see me on the first day and explained to me that here was my phone number and I would be here the whole time except for my two-week vacation in a month.

They had a system …

To build a house you need lots of truckloads of cement and various other things.

On the days they did this, they generally went to all the neighbors’ houses early in the morning to give them some time to drive their cars onto the street so they wouldn’t be cornered.

A month later, the guy whose contact information I have is on vacation, I drive down the driveway, turn the corner (it’s L-shaped) and see a huge gravel truck that has just pulled up.

Now there is room for the truck to pull out of the driveway, but it looked new and probably didn’t understand the situation.

So I get out of my car as he gets out of his taxi, walk up to him and politely ask if he can move the truck out of the driveway so we can get in.

Oh-oh-oh…

He just looks at me and says, “Fuck off, boy, real men work here. I’m not moving.”

I say it again, this time in a serious tone, and say that I have to go somewhere else and that they are not following the access guidelines (which all the houses have signed).

I’m being whined to hell again and then the guy starts threatening me.

So I walk away and think about how I can meet up with my friends? … (for a movie marathon, great by the way.)

Park right there!

A few texts later, my friends pulled into my driveway as I instructed and parked directly behind his truck so he couldn’t get out.

My friends jump out, lock their cars and walk towards me.

A guy comes out shouting: “You can’t park here, there’s a construction site here! This is illegal, I’m calling the police.”

I go up to him and say, since you now consider this to be a parking space, I will park here as I have the right to use it.

And to top it all off, I inform him that what he is doing is illegal, but I am not, because I own the land we are standing on.

An hour and a half later, when we have to get more supplies, we find him in his taxi, angrily calling the construction manager on vacation and telling him that he is in the wrong.

We drive somewhere in our cars, come back and of course he’s gone.

When the site manager returns, he comes with the truck driver and they both apologize to me.

They even gave me half a dozen beers as an apology gift.

The. Best. Feeling. Ever.”
