Tree debris collection points in Holmes Lake and Seng Park now closed | KLIN

The Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that the storm debris collection sites at Holmes Lake Park and Seng Park are currently closed.

Three storm collection points will remain open until Monday, August 19. Residents can dispose of storm waste free of charge at the following locations:

  • Star City Shores, 4375 p. 33. Court
  • Woods Park, southern lot on “J” Street
  • Oak Lake Park, Sun Valley Boulevard and Charleston Street

Forestry and parks crews are clearing debris from the Holmes Lake Park and Seng Park sites in preparation for fall activities in the parks. There will be increased construction and forestry vehicles in the area. Residents are asked to avoid the area during this time.

The Park Service offers free wood chip mulch on a first-come, first-served basis at three locations in Lincoln. The mulch may not be used for commercial purposes. The locations are:

  • Bowling Lake Park Parking Lot, NW 48th and West Cuming Street
  • Fleming Fields Parking Lot, 31st Street and Leighton Avenue
  • Holmes Lake Park, parking lot five, 70th Street and North Shore Drive
