Travis Scott re-releases “Days Before Rodeo” on streaming services

After announcing that his mixtape “Days Before Rodeo” would be streaming for the first time during a performance at Fanatics Fest yesterday, Travis Scott has now officially announced that the project will be released at DSPs on August 23rd in honor of his 10th anniversary.

Scott initially released the 12-song set as a free prelude to his debut album, Rodeo. He released Days Before Rodeo on August 18, 2014, nearly a year before his official first project came out on September 4, 2015. Days consisted of the singles “Don’t Play” featuring Big Sean and 1975, and “Mamacita” featuring Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug. Additional guest appearances were made by Migos, Peewee Longway and Young Thug, as well as production from Metro Boomin, Lex Luger, WondaGurl and others.

Accompanying the streaming version of the album is a merch store offering three different box sets, hats, hoodies and vinyl. Fans can access unreleased bonus tracks from the “Days Before Rodeo” era by purchasing a digital version of the album on his website.

To mark the re-release, Scott posted a trailer for the mixtape on Instagram, featuring footage of him in the studio with Future and Young Thug, as well as clips of him crowd surfing during a performance. “DAYS BEFORE RODEO’S 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY,” he wrote in the caption. “WE’RE CELEBRATING IT BY FINALLY RE-RELEASING. EVERYWHERE AUGUST 23RD AND MAYBE A FEW DBR SONGS FROM THAT ERA FROM THE ARCHIVES. More info at Travisscott.com and shizzzz, shsbsbsbsb. I’M FUCKING JUMPING THROUGH WALLS AHHHH.”

Since the release of “Days Before Rodeo” and “Rodeo,” Scott has become one of the preeminent figures in hip-hop, releasing three consecutive solo albums as well as two collaborative albums. His latest album, “Utopia,” was released in July 2023 and shot to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in its first week of release.
