According to Variety, the film is expected to gross $21 million this weekend.
The survival horror thriller “Never Let Go” landed in fourth place on its first day in theaters with sales of 1.6 million dollars.
The film, which The Wrap calls “grasping at straws,” centers on a mother trying to protect her twin sons in a post-apocalyptic world.
The matriarch is played by Halle Berry, who, according to The Guardian, “is a strong anchor as always, but by the time the credits roll, we’re ready to let go.”
In its eighth week in theaters, “Deadpool & Wolverine” landed at number five, taking home $991,000.
