Get the kids ready to honk the horns, sound the sirens and explore all the vehicles next weekend! The New River Valley Home Builders Association (NRVHBA) is proud to present the 9th Annual Touch-A-Truck NRV event this Saturday, August 17th from 10am-3pm at Uptown Christiansburg, 782 New River Road in the rear parking lot. For those with sensitive ears, the event will be without horns and sirens from 10am-1pm.
Kids can safely and hands-on climb into the driver’s seat and explore vehicles such as patrol cars, dump trucks, cherry pickers, construction vehicles and more.
Many businesses and nonprofits offer plenty of activities to keep the kids busy. Local food trucks will satisfy your hunger and the kids will have the opportunity to build their own birdhouse at the event! Get ready for a day of giant tires, horns, sirens and fun.
Touch-a-Truck NRV is a family event open to all. Tickets are $3 each or $8 per family ticket (valid for up to four participants). Children under 2 are admitted free. Proceeds from this event go to the New River Valley Home Builders Association and the NRVHBA Microgrant Fund, which provides funding for special projects and/or materials in elementary and secondary schools that meet the workforce development interests of the homebuilding and construction industry.
