Tottenham Hotspur vs Brentford: Match time, live blog and how to watch online

It hasn’t been a great start to the season for Tottenham Hotspur. I don’t think many would see it differently. But a lot would be forgivable if Spurs could go on a winning streak. So, Coventry aside, let’s tackle the game against Brentford (pun intended), shall we?

Brentford will not be an easy opponent, having eliminated Crystal Palace and Southampton this season and (predictably) lost to Liverpool and Manchester City. Unlike Spurs, they have no problems in attack, with strikers Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa each scoring three goals in four games so far. Spurs’ somewhat inconsistent defence will have to do its best to prevent conceding.

Spurs, meanwhile, boast the return of Yves Bissouma from injury, but also have further injuries to their attacking line after Wilson Odobert picked up a thigh injury against Coventry in midweek. Ange Postecoglou and the squad will be looking to silence the doubters after a challenging few weeks, so let’s hope the team comes out of this with a full blast.

Match thread rules

Match thread rules are the same as always. To all first-time visitors: Welcome! We’re glad you’re here! Wipe your feet, watch the gap, and be sure to check out the other pages on this excellent site. While you’re here, however, we do have a few rules and regulations:

  • Absolutely no links to illegal streams. They are bad and will get us into trouble. Violators will be warned or blocked.
  • We have rules against “relentless negativity.” Nobody likes a grumpy person. Don’t be hasty and post edgy or hurtful things just because you’re frustrated.
  • In this sense, openly insulting players or referees is also not allowed. It is OK to say “Wow, that was a really bad decision”, but it is NOT OK to massively insult the referee for a decision you did not like.
  • Treat others in the match thread the way you would want someone to treat your grandmother. Be nice. This is a community of fans, not an unmoderated message board.
  • NO SPIDERS!
  • And finally, while we don’t have a rule against bad language, please try to keep the rude words under control. Also, language that is sexist, racist, transphobic, or homophobic will be promptly deleted and you will be banned immediately. This is an open, supportive community.

Have fun and COYS!
