Tom Brady names his five best teams of the NFL season so far – and praises experienced quarterback after excellent start

Two weeks into the 2024-25 season, NFL legend and FOX Sports analyst Tom Brady has named his top five teams in the league.

With the teams already playing two games, several teams have already made a great impression on the seven-time Super Bowl winning quarterback.

In FOX Sports’ Tom Brady Power Rankings, his $375 million acquisition listed the New Orleans Saints, Houston Texans and his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as the fifth, fourth and third teams in his ranks.

At the top of the pile, Brady had the Buffalo Bills in second place and the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in first place.

“They’re definitely not what we would have predicted before the season,” Brady said. “Super Bowls aren’t won in September, but these teams are off to a good start.”

Brady pointed out that the Saints and Dallas Cowboys each scored a touchdown on their first possessions before New Orleans emerged with a 44-19 victory.

“Derek Carr has scored 15 points in a row as a quarterback this year,” Brady praised. “91 points in the first two games of the season, they’re off to a great start.”

The Texans are also 2-0, with second-year quarterback CJ Stroud leading the offense. Brady praised the defense for “stealing the show” against the Chicago Bears on Sunday night.

The Bears defense sacked No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams seven times, holding Chicago to 13 points.

Tampa Bay avenged its playoff loss to the Detroit Lions with a 20-16 win on Sunday, and Brady praised the Buccaneers’ defense for holding out.

For the Bills, Brady highlighted James Cook’s three touchdowns in a dominant performance against the Miami Dolphins, then praised the defending champions, who were at the top of his list last week.

“It wasn’t their best win against Cincinnati,” Brady said. “But great teams find ways to win. Unfortunately, they lost Pacheco with a broken fibula. That can hurt a little bit.”

“Patrick (Mahomes) only threw for 151 yards,” Brady added. “But until they beat the champs, they’ll still be No. 1 in my book.”
