Are you looking for tips, hints and answers for Saturday’s Wordle? You can find them here:
Sunday, lazy Sunday. I think I’d rather Sunday be lazy than actually be a lazy day for me. I usually do a ton of housework and prep for game night, then often cook a ton of food for game night and spend the entire evening playing games. Yet, deep in my heart, there’s an idealistic remnant that longs for a day where there is nothing at all. Not even gravity. Just floating, floating, fetal hibernation in a galactic womb. Like sleep, but without dreams or the morning pains. The essence of laziness, pure and warm and fuzzy.
I went too far. Let’s do this Wordle.

Wordle Analysis
Every day I check Wordle Bot to analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot. right here.
I got incredibly lucky today, especially because I struggled a bit with my first word. I started with CREA and then couldn’t think of a final letter. Well, I guess I had the word CREEP in mind at the beginning but didn’t want two E’s so I swapped the second one for an “A” and then couldn’t think of anything else. So I swapped the “R” for an “L” and guessed CLEAT. Only a few words came to mind at this point, but I had no idea I had eliminated all but 4. TRACE or TEACH were the ones that came to mind and I chose TEACH – lucky me!
Competitive Wordle Score
A total failure. 0 points for guessing in four and 0 for the draw with the bot.
How to play competitive Wordle
- If you get a 1, guessing is worth 3 points, if you get a 2, guessing is worth 2 points, if you get a 3, guessing is worth 1 point, if you get a 4, guessing is worth 0 points, if you get a 5, guessing is worth -1 point, if you get a 6, guessing is worth -2 points and missing the Wordle is worth -3 points.
- If you beat your opponent, you get 1 point. If you draw, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add these points together to get your score. Keep a daily score or just play for a new score every day.
- On Fridays you get 2XP, which means you double your points – positive or negative.
- You can keep a running record or just play day by day. Have fun!
Today’s Wordle etymology
The word “teach” comes from Old English tæcanwhich means “to show, instruct or warn”. It comes from the Proto-Germanic Subscribewhich means “to show or to demonstrate”. This in turn comes from the Proto-Indo-European root deik- means “to indicate or show,” which is also the origin of words like “token” and “index.”
