Yellow Answers: Revealed and Explained

The main part of this category that might prove difficult is the word WATER. Finally, it is a very common drink, but it does not belong in this category. Otherwise, PRUNE might trick some players since it’s some kind of juice, but that’s it much more specific than the other drinks listed here. Once I had water firmly placed in a different category, it was much easier to put these four words together without any problems, although PUNCH made me think for a moment that it went with SMITE and SOCK.

Green Answers: Revealed and Explained

I found this category first, although I had a few wrong guesses before this category. This was mainly due to SMITE and SOCK as mentioned above, but luckily I turned around and looked for something else. Seeing POT and PRUNE as I was scrolling through the words caught my attention and this is what I realized WATER could be a verb and not a noun Here. After that, it only took a few moments to search for FERTILIZER and it was nice to finally see the green bar on the screen.

Blue Answers: Revealed and Explained

BOOKEND and EARBUD caught my attention when I was looking for other possible categories. This is mainly because at first glance they don’t look like they would go with anything else, but as I thought about it I realized this they were both items that usually had two that “provided with book” something. As I was looking around, SOCK was another option that came as a pair and the last thing I added was SKI. This made me happy because it made me realize that I could see some of the more subtle categories that Connections uses much better.

Purple Answers: Revealed and Explained

This would be hard to detect in advance and it would be quite impressive if you did. But to find out All but one letter in each word indicates an error is something that would require more effort to detect. Luckily I got around to it one last time, but SMITE and STICK gave me some problems earlier in the puzzle. I was able to pivot quickly enough today to avoid losing due to a wrong guess, but I’m not always that lucky. In this case, my mistakes are your gain.
