Due to a low pressure system moving eastward off the coast, there will be repeated showers throughout the day and into the weekend.
There are several Flood warnings on the coast along eastern Massachusetts toward Cape Cod, the islands, and parts of the Connecticut coast. Moderate coastal flooding is possible during high tide cycles today and Saturday.
TODAY
Today you will start the day with cool and humid conditions with temperatures between 18 and 19 degrees. There is a chance of occasional showers this morning, otherwise the skies will be cloudy.

The chance of isolated showers remains, especially during the early afternoon hours, in cool and humid weather with plenty of clouds. Highs will only get cooler, approaching the mid to upper 60s.
All of these showers are due to a low pressure system that is stuck off the coast and has its centre to the east of us. It has already brought quite a lot of rain, in some places towards the Cape even up to five centimetres of rain.
Very strong rip currents will be experienced along the south coast throughout the day and into the weekend, with very windy conditions at times and gusts of up to 25 mph.

OUTLOOK
We’re in for a 50/50 weekend, with a higher chance of showers on Saturday and an overall drier Sunday with sunshine. Highs will remain cool at around 18 degrees and windy weather will prevail.
Overall, it will be significantly cooler in the next few days and temperatures will be below average, ranging between 18 and 20 degrees.
