Critics agree that the Odyssey Dance Theatre is nothing short of spectacular:

“Odyssey’s production of Thriller was a real thrill for audiences who were sometimes breathless with laughter, sometimes frightened and amazed, but always thoroughly entertained. The numbers were excitingly choreographed and energetically performed…” – Margaret Godfrey – Salt Lake Tribune

“Odyssey’s ‘Thriller’… a delightful ‘Danse Macabre’… As for the humor, there were plenty of laughs. There were plenty of laughs during a ‘Romeo & Juliet’-inspired ‘Frankenstein & Frankenstein’ and ‘Jason Jam,’ a work that used a lot of percussive dancing, à la ‘Stomp,’ in which three ‘Friday the 13th’ villains danced with ice picks, machetes and, of all things, chainsaws. The whole idea was cool…” – Scott Iwasaki – Deseret News

There are excerpts from A Christmas Carol, Derryl’s It’s a Wonderful Life and Redux’s The Nutcracker, Elf, A Christmas Carol, Home Alone, The Rockettes and White Christmas.

Shut Up and Dance – April 2nd to 5th, 2025

Shut Up and Dance allows dancers and choreographers to flex their artistic muscles and really showcase their skills and different styles in smaller, repertory-style works. “Again, we emphasize accessibility,” says Derryl, “but we’re not afraid to try more innovative choreographic movement styles. The title says it all. Dance is an amazing form of expression that you don’t need manuals and textbooks to understand. It communicates with everyone and across all boundaries.”
