Virginia Tech has announced its second new recruit for the class of 2025 in the last three days. Today, three-star athlete Luke Stuewe chose Virginia Tech over Miami (OH). Stuewe is the son of Michael Stuewe, a former wide receiver for Virginia Tech from 1994-1997.

Stuewe is a three-star prospect in the 2025 class and ranks as the No. 1671 player in the country, the No. 140 athlete in the country and the No. 84 player in the state of Ohio according to the 247Sports Composite. He has additional offers from Miami (OH), Buffalo, Bowling Green, Kent State, Marshall and Toledo, to name a few. A 6-foot-2, 195-pound player who can make things happen when he gets the ball in his hands, Stuewe is an underrated addition to Virginia Tech’s 2025 class.

Shamarius Peterkin, a four-star prospect in 2025 who plays at Mount Tabor High School in Winston Salem, N.C., chose the Hokies on Friday, choosing NC State, North Carolina and others. Peterkin is ranked No. 208 in the country by 247Sports, the No. 23 wide receiver and No. 7 prospect in the state of North Carolina. Peterkin had a crystal ball prediction that he would end up at NC State, but he chose the Hokies.

This was a big signing for the Hokies and another big win for wide receivers coach Fontel Mines. Mines has brought in one of the best receiver classes in the ACC and sees the future of that position well filled in Blacksburg. Four-star wide receivers Micah Matthews and Matthew Outten committed to Virginia Tech earlier this year.

Peterkin also had offers from Maryland, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Georgia, Florida State and Louisville, among others.

“Tall, slender 6’2″ outside receiver who has played all three phases and multiple positions. Long-stride gait that allows for more initial acceleration than expected. Slippery strong as a return threat and weapon when running after the catch. Tracks the deep ball well and makes impressive hand catches in the vertical game. Spatial awareness of defenders and boundaries. Basketball player who shows go-get-it effectiveness in the red zone and matchup-winning consistency thanks to athleticism and timing in contested situations. Big-play threat in the return game, including long 99 (kick) and 77 (punt) for touchdowns as a junior. Production increases significantly from last year entering senior season. Jumped 5-10 high as a freshman and also plays basketball, showing the ability to finish above the hoop in the open floor. Not too long despite size. Still room to get another gait out of top-of-the-line speed.” Projected as a potential P4 starter who could become an impact player with pro potential.

Also plays basketball and has competed in track and field. Has limited 200-meter experience as a junior in the spring of 2024. As a freshman, he high jumped 5-10 miles and did extensive repeats in the 200 meters and both hurdles, according to Athletic.net.

2023: As a junior, he caught 42 passes for 824 yards and 12 TDs and ran 18 times for 77 yards. He also got defensive snaps and shined in the return game, averaging 30.0 yards on 7 kick returns, including a long of 99 (TD). Also averaged 24.4 yards on 5 punt returns, including 1 TD.

2022: Finished a breakthrough sophomore season with 322 rushing yards and 3 TDs, plus 15 receptions for 310 yards and 6 TDs. Also threw for 239 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. Recorded 17 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack and 1 INT (TD) on defense. Also made appearances on special teams.2021: Gained valuable experience on the varsity team as a freshman. Scored 2 offensive TDs and gained 149 yards on 11 touches.”
