Three interesting Red Wings memorabilia are for sale

The preseason is just around the corner and a not insignificant group of fans are preparing their decorations for the season. Signed posters, mini helmets as souvenirs, sometimes even a stick or two – with merchandise, ice hockey fans can tie their favorite team even closer.

These Detroit Red Wings memorabilia are quite interesting, be it because of their rarity, obscurity or desirability.

Lucas Raymond “1. Goal” puck

Most signed pucks are just regular old pucks with the player’s signature on them. This one is a little more unique.

This puck being sold at the NHL Shop is a Lucas Raymond “1st NHL Goal” puck. It’s certainly not his authentic first goal puck – first because Raymond probably has it stashed somewhere and second because there are six of them still for sale. But this design adds some spice to an age-old sports merch tradition of the signed puck. It’s probably one he signed after his first goal, and he’s scored so many since then that it’s worth a lot.

For a Raymond fan who wants to play it safe, this puck could be a cool memorabilia to decorate a room with, or perhaps pair it with a signed copy of his next contract.

Ticket stub from the last playoff game in 1978 at the Detroit Olympia

As you walk through Little Caesars Arena, you’re sure to come across the old, illuminated sign of the Detroit Olympia, the home of the Red Wings until 1978. If you’re a fan who wants a piece of that legend in their facility, this ticket stub from the 1978 playoffs might be the next best thing.

This item for sale on eBay is a PSA graded game clip from the Red Wings’ victory over the Atlanta Flames on April 13, 1978. That 3-2 win in the early round of the playoffs put Detroit in a series against eventual Stanley Cup champions Montreal in which the Red Wings won just one game at the Montreal Forum. Detroit didn’t make the playoffs again until 1984, and it took three more seasons before it won a series.

The rarity makes it an intriguing piece, although its price tag of $350 is quite high. However, if you think that’s bad, don’t even look at what a ticket from the last game at Joe Louis Arena costs.

Pavel Datsyuk – 2002 Stanley Cup Bobblehead

Pavel Datsyuk is on his way to the Hall of Fame. Could this 2002 Stanley Cup bobblehead be on his way to someone, too?

The article shows a big-headed Datsyuk holding the Stanley Cup on an icy pedestal, a championship he won in his rookie season on one of the greatest dream teams in NHL history. Datsyuk scored 11 goals and 24 assists in 70 games that season and added six points in the playoffs, earning him his first of two championships. The second came in 2008, when he played a more central role in the team’s success alongside Henrik Zetterberg and the ageless Nicklas Lidstrom.
