This Morning presenter interrupts show to make live wedding announcement | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

On Thursday’s episode of This Morning, presenter Craig Doyle interrupted the show for a heartwarming moment. Craig and his co-host Josie Gibson spoke to people affected by the aftermath of the recent unrest.

Liverpool society was shocked when a popular local library and meeting place was set on fire. Alex McCormick launched a fundraising campaign which raised £200,000 for repairs.

During her conversation with the 27-year-old activist, Craig steered the discussion in a celebratory direction.

He excitedly interjected: “We’re celebrating feel-good on This Morning today, Alex, we’re celebrating a real feel-good weekend. A little bird told me you’re getting married in a couple of days, is that right?” reports the Mirror.

A shy Alex confirmed her upcoming wedding with the words: “Yes, I’ll be there on Sunday!”

Josie was amazed at Alex’s commitment to the community, even though her wedding was just around the corner.

The presenter remarked: “You have to sort all this out before your wedding on Sunday?! I’m sorry, but this has happened to you now.”

But Alex was unimpressed and replied: “No, you know what, luckily the wedding was still beautiful and well organized.”

She added: “It’s been a really lovely, positive week leading up to the wedding. I’ve seen communities come together. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Josie agreed, emphasizing the power of community in difficult times. She told Craig, “When we come together, we can do great things!”

As her conversation with Alex came to a close, Craig was quick to wish her well for her upcoming wedding on Sunday, telling the 27-year-old, “Have a great day!”

Over the past few days, ITV viewers have seen Josie and Craig take the helm while regular presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard enjoy their summer break.

The new duo was well received by the audience and many demanded that the two become the permanent faces of the show.

One viewer commented: “Can we just get Craig and Josie, Alison and Dermot to host #thismorning permanently?”

Another fan suggested: “Craig and Josie should stay permanent.”

A third viewer shared: “I really like the partnership between Craig and Josie. It’s been refreshing to have other people back in the last few weeks. Much better than Ben and Cat.”

And another added: “Love Josie and Craig on #ThisMorning, so much wit and warmth.”

However, there will be a change next week as Rylan Clark will co-host the ITV show with Josie.

This Morning continues weekdays from 10am on ITV.
