Craig Doyle interrupted a live interview on This Morning today (8 August) to make a very special announcement.

The TV favourite took it upon himself to interrupt the show so he could shed light on his interviewee’s upcoming wedding – ohhh!

The presenter and co-star Josie discussed the recent unrest across the country on today’s show and spoke to members of the Liverpool community who have been shocked by the destruction of a local library, prompting Alex McCormick to lead a fundraising campaign.

That’s why Alex has pushed for the raising of an incredible £200,000 for repairs.

It wasn’t just Alex’s fundraising efforts that impressed Craig, but also her upcoming wedding!

Craig joined the interview: “Today on This Morning we’re celebrating feel-good. Alex, we’re celebrating a real feel-good weekend. A little bird told me you’re getting married in a few days, is that right?”

You have to sort all this out before your wedding on Sunday?

Alex confirmed shyly: “Yes, I’ll be there on Sunday!”

Josie then commented in amazement on Alex’s hard work in organising such a special event. She said: “You have to sort all this out before your wedding on Sunday?! I’m sorry but this has happened to you at this point.”

A calm Alex replied: “No, you know what, luckily the wedding was still beautiful and well organized.”

She added: “It’s been a really lovely, positive week leading up to the wedding. I’ve seen communities come together. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Josie turned to Craig and agreed: “When we come together, great things can happen!”

As the interview came to an end, Craig also conveyed his best wishes for Alex’s upcoming wedding, shouting, “Have a great day!”

Craig’s cancellation of the show came after he announced he would be taking a break from the show next week.

The presenter is travelling to the Olympic Games in Paris in a few days and will be replaced by Rylan Clark!

In last night’s episode, Craig and Josie joked about his escape, with Craig even pretending to be upset while Josie comforted him!
