We were all so excited when Channing Tatum finally made his big appearance as Gambit. Deadpool and Wolverine. But will this lead to more action for the actor as a popular X-Men character? Well, Channing Tatum certainly hopes so. He shared with diversity “He’s already told Marvel he wants to do it anyway.” It’s a standalone Gambit film, which of course stars Tatum. He notes, “Of course I said it. I’ve been saying I want it for 10 years… It’s in the hands of Bob Iger and Kevin Feige. I pray to God.”

Well, that sounds like a pretty intense wish to us. With the success of Deadpool and Wolverine And given the enthusiasm that Channing Tatum’s Gambit is receiving, who knows what else awaits us?

On Instagram, Tatum shared some candid thoughts about finally being able to play Gambit Deadpool and WolverineHe notes, “I was sitting in the audience when Ryan gave the world his first look at Deadpool 1, and I think I ran backstage right afterward and found him, and I think I just hugged him and was like, holy shit, you did it, man. It’s perfect. I actually didn’t know him at all at the time. But since then, I can say that there’s almost nobody in this industry that has had my back more than Ryan. I thought I’d lost Gambit forever. But he fought for me and Gambit. I’ll probably owe him forever. Because I’m not sure how I could ever do anything that would equal what that meant to me. I love you, buddy. Shawn Levy, too. Truly such a brilliant creator on every single level. Everything happens for a reason. I’m so grateful to be in this movie. In my opinion, it’s a masterpiece. And just pure, stark joy. I was literally screaming in the theater. LFG!!“
