This A-Frame home for sale in San Antonio is a time capsule from the ’70s | San Antonio

An unusual A-frame home recently hit the market in the Inspiration Hills neighborhood of northwest San Antonio. Built in 1972, the unique structure has remained largely untouched since Nixon was embroiled in the Watergate scandal, according to the listing agent.

With its steep roof and tall, tapered windows, the building seems to be the perfect setting for the establishment of a New Age cult. With the exception of two of the three bedrooms, the entire 185 square meter house is fitted with cedar paneling, a hallmark of 1970s home decor.

The living area seems to be directly Boogie Nights thanks to 25-foot vaulted ceilings with oak shiplap and exposed cedar beams. The two-story main living area is one of two common spaces on the ground floor. A staircase leads up to the main living area from a loft behind a metal railing.

From the living room, a pass-through window offers a view into the kitchen, which is probably the coolest room in the whole house. From the brown and yellow color scheme to the original wood cabinets and laminate countertops, this is a kitchen fit for the Brady Bunch. Even the built-in retro appliances are original, but real estate agent Lauren Snider said she’s not sure they work.

The house is truly a time capsule for better And for the worse. According to Snider, absolutely no major renovations have been made to the house. She can imagine the next owner wanting to replace the linoleum flooring and raise the low ceiling in the kitchen.

“It has a lot of potential, but a lot of work still needs to be done,” she said.

For a buyer willing to invest a little TLC, the home is available for $275,000. Jive-moochers need not apply.

This home is offered by Lauren Snider at Exquisite Properties.
