Authorities are searching for a group of thieves they believe may be connected to two burglaries that occurred within hours of each other last night in Chatsworth and North Hollywood.

At around 3:30 a.m., a white SUV sped into the driveway of Swish, a tobacco shop in North Hollywood.

However, Los Angeles Police Department officials said the damage to the vehicle was not extensive enough to allow the occupants to board. Nothing is believed to have been stolen.

In Chatsworth, surveillance video captured the moment a white pickup truck sped through the driveway of a business called Smoke City.

At least five people were seen running in and out of the store. This is believed to have happened around 1 a.m., before the North Hollywood incident.

The store owner said he was at home when he received an alert on his phone from the store’s security system.

The owner said this was the second time his business had been affected.

“Right now, it’s all about cleaning up and repairing the damage,” said owner George Touma. “And probably some measures will be taken to make the place a little more secure than before.”

The police are currently trying to find out whether there is a connection between the two incidents.
