Although her rose has wilted, Theresa Nist bears no grudge against Gerry Turner.

Becoming the first Golden Bachelor winner is no small feat and a path that 71-year-old Nist does not take for granted. And although she and the 72-year-old Golden Bachelor star are going their separate ways, she wishes him all the best.

“So Gerry and I have been talking,” Nist told The Post exclusively. “We don’t talk on a regular basis. I would say I wish him well and I see that he has so many friends and I’m so happy for him that that’s the case.”

The New Jersey resident also hopes that Turner will give love another chance.

“I really hope he finds his human,” Nist explained, “because he wants it and he deserves it, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for him. I’m on his side.”

And the financial genius himself is also quite open to a new search for love.

“Oh my God, yes. Yes! Yes!” Nist exclaimed. “I think we need to go through life with a partner. It’s so much more fun. I want to do so many things, and for me it would be so much more fun to do it with a partner, so I’m absolutely open to it.”

However, there are some exceptions to the golden rule.

“I can’t try it the same way I used to,” she admitted. “I don’t think I could use a dating app at this point. So I don’t know, someone would have to fall out of the sky, but I’m definitely open to it.”

And when the perfect suitor drops from above, Nist knows exactly what she’s looking for.

“Sense of humor,” she said. “Let’s laugh together. Smart. Someone smart. And then I have to be physically attracted to the person, so there has to be chemistry. And that’s something you can’t define, it’s undefinable. You’re either attracted to someone or you’re not.”

Nist added: “It’s just about the ability to have fun together, support each other, make each other laugh and be there for each other.”

Nist is now completely satisfied with her everyday life.

“After the show, I just went back to my normal life, just spending time with my family and friends and going back to work,” she confessed. “So the normal routine of what I was doing before. And I actually spent a lot of time working on my house. I’ve been painting, I’ve been gardening and I’ve been really busy. I’ve been enjoying the Jersey Shore.”

And of course, Nist took the time to visit her best friend Leslie Fhima, who came second in season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor.”

When asked who she is closest to from her time in the Bachelor villa, Nist replied, “Definitely, hands down Leslie.”

“We bonded through the show. We’re attracted to each other. She taught me some exercise routines. We went for walks together and cooked for each other,” she continued. “So after the show, I tried to reconnect and we finally did. It’s a shame we don’t live near each other because then we’d hang out every night. But we talk all the time.”

Viewers first met Nist in 2023 on Bachelor Nation’s inaugural edition of “The Golden Bachelor,” where the retired restaurant owner became the lead in search of love after the death of his wife Toni. By the end of the season, Nist and Turner were engaged and married on TV in January.

Three months later, in April, the duo confirmed on “Good Morning America” that it was over.

“Theresa and I have had a number of confidential conversations,” Turner revealed during a joint appearance with Nist, “and we have taken a close look at our situation, our living situation, etc., and have come to the mutual conclusion that it is probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”
