There will be repeated rain showers on Tuesday, but there will be sunshine during the week

ST. LOUIS – Lambert Airport recorded its second straight day of record rainfall amounts of 2.63 inches on Monday.

The heaviest rain of the first week will end in the early hours of Tuesday. As the storm system deviates eastward, some lingering, circulating showers are possible.

Clouds will remain throughout Tuesday, with high temperatures in the lower to mid 70s. Some gradual evictions will begin Tuesday evening and night; Wake-up temperatures on Wednesday will be around 60°.

The selection day of the week is Wednesday. Sunny skies and highs in the mid-70s. Thursday will start out dry with increasing clouds and highs in the 70s again.

What is expected to become Tropical System Nine is forming in the Caribbean Sea. This storm system is expected to strengthen into a hurricane by Thursday and move toward Florida.

Precipitation associated with this storm is expected to move our way late Thursday into Friday. It could get wet again Friday through Sunday, but we will closely monitor the tropical storm’s development.
