The First Alert Weather Team is issuing a heat warning for Wednesday as the heat will reach its peak, reaching highs of just under 38 degrees Celsius and a heat index of up to 42 degrees Celsius.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for parts of the DMV, lasting from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Record high temperatures are also possible. The record in DCA is 99 degrees in 1948 and the record in Dulles is 98 degrees in 1993.

The First Alert Weather Team will be on site later Wednesday evening Storm warning as storm chances increase. Any storms that develop could become strong to severe.
