3 colleges from Delaware County made it to the top 100 list of best colleges in 2025.

Swarthmore College was the only college in Delaware County to make Niche’s top 50 list of best colleges in the U.S. for 2025, but two other colleges in the county made the top 100, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Swarthmore ranks 38th nationally, five spots lower than its 2024 ranking of 33rd.

The school comes in 4th on a niche sublist of the most diverse universities in the country. Last year, it ranked third in that category.

It was also ranked as the fifth best liberal arts college. Haverford College ranks 12th in the same category.

Looking at other colleges in Delaware County, Villanova University ranks 64th th on the national list, out of 56th last year.

Haverford College moved up two places from last year and is ranked 68th nationwide in 2025.

All schools are among Niche’s top tier and receive an “A+” grade.

The niche rankings incorporate more than 500,000 reviews from college students as well as data on admissions, diversity, tuition and graduate salaries.

In addition to the appearance of the campus, the social and sporting experiences of the students are also taken into account.

For the full list of niche rankings, see the Philadelphia Business Journal.
