Temperatures in August

August 2024 brought 15 days of triple-digit temperatures to the Alamo City, 13 of them in a row.


Precipitation in August

Last month was drier than usual, with monthly precipitation totaling 0.38 inches. That’s 1.77 inches less than the average of 2.15 inches.

While the summer of 2024 was not as hot as 2023 (which was considered the hottest summer on record in San Antonio), and despite a period of below-average temperatures in late July, it was still hot enough to secure the fifth hottest spot in Alamo City history:

Outlook for September

  • On average, September is our second wettest month of the year, with an average monthly rainfall of 3.88 inches (9.88 mm).

  • While the average high temperature at the beginning of the month is 93 degrees, the average high temperature at the end of the month drops to 87 degrees.

  • The average low temperature at the beginning of the month is 73 degrees, while the average low temperature at the end of the month drops to 66 degrees.
