The NFL world wonders what Aaron Rodgers of the Jets said to Robert Saleh

The football player was a little confused – and tried to read lips – after Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Robert Saleh had an interesting moment on the sidelines after the Jets took a 14-0 lead on Thursday night.

In a moment captured on the Prime Video broadcast of the Jets-Patriots game, Rodgers looked intently at the Jets coach after slapping him on the sideline.

He then appeared to fend off a hug from Saleh.

Rodgers appeared to say something to the Jets coach, but it wasn’t immediately clear what it was.

Of course, this moment was quickly clipped and posted online, and social media users tried to figure out what the future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback had said.

The answers to X were varied.

“This is a ‘damn honest’ look from Rodgers to his coach. Obviously these people have never played sports,” one person wrote.

“I just saved your job, buddy,” someone joked.

“I think it’s a veteran quarterback holding his head coach accountable by saying now is not the time to celebrate,” wrote another.

The moment was the topic of conversation during the halftime show on Prime Video, and former Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick also spoke out.

“It made me smile and I thought, (former Packers coach Mike) McCarthy is probably sitting in his office tonight watching, (Packers coach Matt) LaFleur is probably sitting in his office tonight laughing and thinking, ‘Hey, we know that version of Aaron too. Quite a competitor,'” Fitzpatrick said.

Regardless of the moment, Saleh was likely pleased with his quarterback’s performance in the first half of the game, as the Jets led 14-3 at halftime.

Rodgers threw 15 successful passes for 170 yards in the first two quarters and scored his first touchdown of the regular season as a member of the Jets with a 10-yard pass to Allen Lazard at MetLife Stadium.
