The changing of the leaves often coincides with the changing of channels. Autumn is the peak television season.

Many of the most-watched shows are airing new episodes, and it can be overwhelming to keep up with them all. But you don’t have to be – Yahoo Entertainment is analyzing all of your most anticipated shows yearbook-style, by superlatives.

  • When: Season 1 of English teacher airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on FX. Episodes stream the next day on Hulu.

  • What you should know: A gay teacher at a Texas high school faces personal and professional challenges.

  • Why you should watch: Will and Grace Actor and TikTok phenomenon Brian Jordan Alvarez has his own Abbott Elementary School, But with an edge.

  • When: The first two episodes of the second season of the Frasier Revival streams September 19 on Paramount+.

  • What you should know: After ending in 2004, the series follows snobby former psychiatrist Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) in his “third act” in Boston, where he meets his estranged son.

  • Why you should watch: After a guest appearance last season, Frasier’s popular radio colleague Roz Doyle will be a returning member of the cast.

  • When: Season 4 of Abbott Elementary School Premiering on October 9, the show airs Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.

  • What you should know: The Emmy-winning series is about the radiant teacher Janine Teagues (Quinta Brunson) and her eccentric colleagues, such as her mentor (Sheryl Lee Ralph) and the chaotic principal (Janelle James).

  • Why you should watch: Janine and Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams) aren’t technically a couple yet, but their budding romance finally flared up in the season three finale, so the new season will likely deal with the aftermath.

  • When: Season 2 of tracker Premieres October 13th, airing Sundays at 8pm ET on CBS.

  • What you should know: Justin Hartley plays a lone survivalist who roams the land in search of rewards and helps people solve puzzles.

  • Why you should watch: The first season was the most watched of the 2023-2024 season. No other first-year show has achieved this distinction since Survivors in the year 2000.

  • When: Season 1 of Georgie & Mandy’s first marriage Premieres October 17, airing Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.

  • What you should know: Young Sheldon aired its last episode in May, but the The Big Bang Theory The spin-off will have its own sequel, which will focus on Sheldon Cooper’s older brother and his wife.

  • Why you should watch: Montana Jordan and Emily Osment star in the first episode of the series that doesn’t feature super-genius Sheldon. We’ll see if the series is as impressive – but it seems that viewers have already taken a liking to the young Texan parents.

  • When: Season 4 of Ghosts Premieres October 17, airing Thursdays at 8:30pm ET on CBS.

  • What you should know: Homeowners Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) share a vast country estate with a diverse group of spirits, from a sassy lounge singer to an optimistic ’80s Boy Scout leader.

  • Why you should watch: The ensemble comedy is based on a British series, but has now become a popular TV classic – not unlike The office, but with less embarrassing humor and more spooky chaos.

  • When: Season 2 of Elsbeth It premieres on October 17th and airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.

  • What you should know: The dramedy spin-off of The good wife takes a lighter tone and follows Carrie Preston’s unconventional lawyer character Elsbeth Tascioni.

  • Why you should watch: While Elsbeth’s wardrobe is certainly colorful and quirky, the way it takes the procedural formula and spices it up in a fascinatingly fresh way makes the show a must-see.

  • When: Season 5 of The equalizer Premieres October 20, airing Sundays at 9:30pm ET on CBS.

  • What you should know: In the crime drama, a reboot of a 1985 series, Queen Latifah plays a single mother and street dweller who works toward her own redemption while helping others seek justice.

  • Why you should watch: The emotional cliffhanger of the last season keeps us on the edge of our seats, as do the show’s fast-paced stunts.

  • When: Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2, It premieres on November 10th and airs Sundays at 8pm ET on the Paramount Network.

  • What you should know: The contemporary western drama follows conflicts between the Dutton ranch-owning family, the nearby Indian reservation, the national park and land developers.

  • Why you should watch: The hugely popular show hasn’t aired a new episode since January 2023, and its final season was eagerly awaited even without the presence of Kevin Costner, who is now concentrating on his horizon film franchise.
