The LIRR expands service to the Elmont-UBS Arena during




21 additional trains stop in Woodside and the Elmont-UBS Arena

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) announced today that several morning trains to Huntington, Ronkonkoma, and some Hempstead trains in both directions will add additional stops at Elmont-UBS Arena and/or Woodside to supplement service for those traveling to UBS Arena to see the Dalai Lama tomorrow, Thursday, August 22.

Between 6:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., 21 trains traveling along the main line will make additional stops at Elmont-UBS Arena and/or Woodside:

  • 9 eastbound trains will make an additional stop at the Elmont-UBS Arena
  • 5 westbound trains will add a stop at Elmont-UBS Arena
  • 1 eastbound train will make an additional stop at Woodside
  • 2 eastbound trains will add a stop at both Woodside and Elmont-UBS Arena
  • 4 westbound trains will add a stop at both Woodside and Elmont-UBS Arena

Most morning eastbound and westbound Hempstead Branch trains already have a scheduled stop at the Elmont-UBS Arena.

Due to additional stops, passengers on the Main Line, which includes Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson, Hempstead and Oyster Bay, are advised to plan ahead as isolated delays of up to 15 minutes are possible.

For specific train information, customers are advised to check the TrainTime app, where timetables have already been updated with the additional service.
