The Knoxville Greek Fest is still going ahead despite the rain forecast

Greek Fest in Knoxville will go ahead as planned this weekend, despite possible rainfall from the remnants of Hurricane Helene.

With a 70% chance of rain and a high wind warning today and a 30-60% chance over the weekend, festival organizers have stressed their willingness to ensure Knoxville’s annual tradition remains a fun experience.

“For now we are ready to carry on like any other day with no intention of changing anything. We expect the weather to improve,” Theodora McCullough told Knox News on Sept. 27.

Founded in 1977, the Knoxville Greek Fest attracts more than 20,000 visitors each year and is known for its celebration of Greek culture, food and music. The festival will take place Sept. 27-29 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Kingston Pike.

Many of the festival’s activities and exhibitions take place indoors. Dining tents are set up throughout the grounds, while cooking demonstrations and vendors take place inside to keep the festivities going come rain or shine.

The festival will take place on September 27th and 28th from 11am to 10pm and on September 29th from 11am to 5pm. Tickets are $3 or $5 for a weekend pass.
