The Jacksonville Jaguars offense is challenged by the Miami Dolphins defense

As the Jacksonville Jaguars prepare to face the Miami Dolphins, there is a lot of talk about how difficult it is to stop the Dolphins offense. Last season, the Dolphins offense was one of the best in the National Football League and will likely be one of the best again next season.

The Dolphins have talent at all positions on offense that can cause problems for the defense.

The Dolphins receiver unit consists of some of the fastest wide receivers in the league.

Although it will be a challenge for the Jaguars defense to slow down the Dolphins offense, coach Doug Pederson still believes that the Dolphins defense poses a formidable challenge to the Jaguars offense.

“I think Phillips (Dolphins LB Jaelan Phillips) is one that’s going to play,” Pederson said. “Sounds like he’s going to play anyway. And he should, I mean, he’s talked like that and he’s a great player. Then Calais (Dolphins DT Calais Campbell), we know him, we had him play last year, and he’s obviously a great player and just a really good, solid defensive line, again, different front and personnel combinations.”

Coach Pederson attributes the Dolphins’ talent at various positions on defense to making them difficult to play against. Overall, Coach Pederson believes the Dolphins have an experienced, well-coached unit on defense that will cause problems for the Jaguars’ offense.

He points out that the offensive in particular will be put to the test.

“(Dolphins LB) David Long, we know him as a linebacker from his time in Tennessee and know him a little bit,” Coach Pederson said. “It’s a good group. It’s a good, solid group and their back end is an experienced group. It’s a challenge for our offense and it’s going to be a good test for our offensive line.”

Internally, the Jaguars believe they have a roster that can compete for a playoff spot this season. Their Week 1 clash against one of the best teams in the conference and the league will be an early test of how close the Jaguars are to making that happen. Coach Pederson and the Jaguars face a tough challenge right from the start to get what will hopefully be a successful season.
