The iconic POLTERGEIST house is for sale. Creepy clown doll not included

Tobe Hoopers poltergeist is one of the best horror films of the 80s. And that’s saying something, because it’s a decade full of horror films. Written and produced by Steven Spielberg, poltergeist tells the story of an ordinary family in a California suburb who move into a new house that has a serious haunting problem. Ghosts are sucking their six-year-old daughter into the underworld via her television. Now, the house made famous by the film in Simi Valley, California, is for sale for $1,198,700. You can view the listing on Zillow. And yes, much of this house has been preserved in its ’80s glory.

The Zillow list is not afraid of the house poltergeist Legacy. It says, “This house is clean. Seriously, it is!” This is of course a quote from psychic Tangina Barrons from the movie “This House is Clean”. (She was wrong, however, the house was definitely not clean yet). Although much of the house in the movie was filmed on sound stages, the exterior shots (and we believe the kitchen as well) were filmed in the real house. The house itself was built in 1979. And the real house is remarkably similar inside to the movie sets.

Similar to the recently purchased and restored Brady Bunch House in its 70s TV style, we hope a rich superfan buys this house and turns it into a poltergeist-themed Airbnb. You wouldn’t even have to remodel that much. Maybe change the staircase to look like the 80s spiral staircase from the movie. Then fill the house with different star Wars Toys, throw some fake skeletons in the swimming pool, and make sure the creepy clown doll is somewhere nearby. Oh, and an old-fashioned tube TV in the living room. That’s really all you need. We guarantee horror fans would pay a pretty penny to stay there and scare themselves. We know we would.
