The Garfield Movie– featuring the voices of Chris Pratt, Samuel L. Jackson and Hannah Waddingham – is released this week on Blu-ray and DVD with bonus extras.
Cinema release: May 24 The Garfield Movieper The numbers grossed nearly $92 million domestically and $163.4 million internationally, for a worldwide gross of $255.4 million. The box office smash reported that the film had a production budget of $60 million before printing and advertising costs.
According to Sony Pictures Home Entertainment The Garfield Movie will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday. The Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Code combo pack is available for $24.99 from various online retailers, including Amazon, Target and Walmart.
Target and Walmart are also among the brick-and-mortar retailers that The Garfield Movie Combo package in stores.
The DVD release of the film will also be available at the same retailers for $22.99 and will also include a digital code.
The Garfield Movie tells the story of how Garfield (Pratt) came to live with his human “father” Jon Arbuckle (Nicholas Hoult) and their dog Odie (Harvey Guillén). Although the lasagna-loving orange tabby loves his family, it has always bothered him that his cat father Vic (Jackson) abandoned him as a kitten – but he doesn’t fully understand the circumstances behind it.
Garfield eventually reunites with his estranged father, who desperately needs his help. Vic must pay off an old debt to his former accomplice Jinx (Waddingham), but he can’t do it alone as it involves an elaborate milk heist at Lactose Farms.
What bonus features are included on the Blu-ray and DVD “Garfield: The Movie”?
Sony Pictures Entertainment noted that The Garfield Movie on Blu-ray and DVD will include several bonus features, including a gag reel, a featurette about the Garfield Easter eggs in the film, and an animatic of a deleted scene featuring Jinx (Hannah Waddingham).
Other extras include the featurettes House cat, outdoor adventure, Cast of Critters And How to draw: Garfield, Odie, Vic and moreas well as animation reels and a gallery.
Director: Mark Dindal, The Garfield Movie The voices of Ving Rhames, Cecily Strong, Brett Goldstein, Bowen Yang, Janelle James and Snoop Dogg can also be heard.
Rated, PG, The Garfield Movie is also available as digital streaming via premium video-on-demand on platforms such as Prime Video, AppleTV+ and VUDU.
