Alien: Earth Creator Noah Hawley has given an unusually optimistic outlook on the future of the show. Can Alien: Earth really run for a decade?

The longevity of the show depends on the audience of the franchise

Hawley’s hopes that the show could be a part of his life for a long time to come may actually bear fruit, because the Foreigner Movies continue to do well in theaters. At the time of writing, the latest installment, Alien: Romulusis expected to have the second-best opening weekend of the entire nine-film franchise, likely recouping its relatively conservative $80 million budget. If its box office numbers continue to rise and the film becomes one of the highest-grossing films in the franchise, it seems that further sequels on the big screen will not be long in coming.

The audience’s support for Romulus could prove to be a double-edged sword for the Foreigner Prequel. If the series runs for one or more seasons and several sequels are shown in the cinemas, The market could become oversaturated with material from the franchiseresulting in diminishing returns for one or both branches.
