The couple charges their wedding guests $333 each to attend

Just when you thought Weddings couldn’t be more extraordinarya couple in New York City decided to flip the script and charge their guests 333 dollars each Only to surface. Yes, you read that right. Forget “I want”, it’s more like “you have to pay”. The happy couple, also known as the “masterminds” behind this expensive plot, were confronted with the high stakes of NYC wedding planning and decided to let their guests foot the bill. I mean, why should the Bride and groom you have all these financial worries, right?

Let us describe the scene: these two lovebirds planned a massive 12-hour extravaganza with 350 of their closest and dearest friends. But when they realized the venue alone would cost them a whopping $150,000, they did what any financially savvy (read: borderline delusional) couple would do. Instead of, I don’t know, choosing a venue that within their budgetthey decided to fully normal and reasonable thing through the sale of tickets to their own Wedding. Fully not crazy!

And here’s the kicker: Of the 350 guests invited, only 60 were willing to spend money to attend. What a surprise. That’s a whopping 80% of their friends and family members saying, “Thanks, but no thanks.” Can you blame them? Asking people to pay to celebrate the big day is a bold move, and the internet (as usual) had a lot to say about it. TikTok exploded with reactions, most of which were less “Congratulations!” and more “What the hell?”

In their TikTok reveal titled “Did we really sell tickets to our wedding?” (spoiler alert: yes), couple Nova and Reemo Styles showed off the fruits of their ticket-selling labor. The video featured their ceremony at the iconic St. Patrick’s Cathedral, followed by a tour of New York’s sights on a double-decker bus, and topped off with a lobster and steak dinner at One World Trade Center. I don’t know if that means “fancy” or just “expensive tourist.” Well, if you’ve outsourced your wedding budget to your guests, you can afford a little bit of luxury.

But the internet was not impressed. People are calling them “cheapies,” “tasteless,” and “greedy.” And honestly? They’re kind of right. Weddings are already damn expensive, and the last thing anyone wants is to be hit with an entrance fee like they’re going to a Beyoncé concert (which, let’s be honest, is a much better use of $333).

While Nova and Reemo said they would use the extra money for their future family and a foundation for IVF treatments, which is nice, have you heard of a registry? The $70,000 they supposedly saved from “ticket sales” doesn’t exactly soften the blow for the friends who had to pay just to celebrate with them.

So what’s the bottom line here? Maybe you should rethink your guest list before sending out those expensive RSVPs. Because as much as we all love a beautiful wedding, there’s a fine line between sharing your special day and directly making money off it.
