The cast of the Netflix film “Peaky Blinders” is becoming more and more star-studded, Barry Keoghan joins the cast
The Netflix film “Peaky Blinders” has added another star to its lineup: Barry Keoghan.
The streamer confirmed the news on Twitter after Deadline reported on the casting, but there are no character details yet on who Keoghan will play.
Keoghan stars in the film alongside Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson. Murphy returns as his iconic character Tommy Shelby, of course, while Ferguson’s character has been shrouded in mystery. Series creator Steven Knight wrote the screenplay for the film and Heart of Stone The film is directed by Tom Harper.
Keoghan is probably best known for his starring role in Saltburn alongside Jacob Elordi, as well as his role as the Joker in The Batman alongside Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader. He also recently starred in Apple TV Plus’ Masters of the Air (and had a starring role in Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” music video).
These are the only confirmed actors so far, but Tom Hardy, who played Alfie in the original series, is set to return“Alfie will definitely turn up, I’m 100 percent sure of that, but I don’t know when… and I don’t even know if he will. That was just my guess,” Hardy teased.
“It seems Tommy Shelby is not finished with me yet… It is very gratifying to be working with Steven Knight and Tom Harper again on the film adaptation of Peaky Blinders,” Murphy said about his return. “This is something for the fans.”
