Vijayendra Prasad has immense love and respect for Puri Jagannath and has expressed this himself in an interview with Ali. Vijayendra Prasad mentioned that he has used Puri’s photo as his phone’s wallpaper. The depth of this admiration was further revealed during the pre-release of Double iSmart.

After Liger’s disappointment, Puri received a call from Vijayendra Prasad. In this conversation, Vijayendra Prasad expressed his concern and stated that it pained him to see a director of Puri’s caliber facing setbacks. He advised Puri to tell him the story of his next film before proceeding and offered to give suggestions if required.

Puri narrated this story and how much Vijayendra Prasad had taken care of him. However, Puri Jagannadh decided to work on Double iSmart without telling Vijayendra Prasad the story and was determined to make a successful film that would speak for itself.

Puri admitted that it is disheartening when a talented director like him, known for his pioneering films like Pokiri and Idiot, produces a film like Liger that fails to resonate. However, the confidence and energy displayed by the team of Double iSmart has fuelled expectations that this film will mark a significant comeback for Puri.

The film, starring Ram Pothineni, will be released on August 15.
