The Broncos’ Tyler Badie collapses on the sideline, is placed on his backboard and carried off the field

A frightening moment occurred toward the end of the first quarter of a game between the Denver Broncos and New York Jets on Sunday.

Broncos running back Tyler Badie was hit hard by Jets linebacker Quincy Williams and fumbled the ball, resulting in a Jets field goal.

Badie returned to the sideline and collapsed. Medics and running back Javonte Williams rushed to Badie. The trainers placed him on a backboard and he was carried off the field.

NFL Network reported that Badie was diagnosed with a back injury and is questionable to return.

Badie was selected in the sixth round by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2022 NFL Draft. However, he never played for the Ravens and made his first appearance with the Broncos in 2022.

He only played in one game before the 2024 season.

When he played against the Jets on Sunday, it was the third game he played this year and the fourth of his career. He had 86 rushing yards on 10 carries.

Denver entered the game 1-2 after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a win in Week 3.

Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin and Blake Watson are the Broncos’ starters at the running back position.
