In recent weeks, prominent voices have been weighing in on the 2024 presidential campaign in a variety of ways, with some of the biggest names in politics and Hollywood lending their voices to a particular candidate in the hopes of making a difference in November.

Actor Matt Damon And Lin Manuel Miranda will attend a fundraiser in New York City later this month — admission is $25,000 per person — to support Kamala Harris and Tim Walz’s campaign platform, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

Which other celebrities have supported Harris?

Some of Hollywood’s biggest names endorsed Biden before he dropped out of the race and then turned to Harris. Olivia Rodrigo, supported Vice President Kamala Harris by sharing a video of a speech by the Vice President in which she promised to “stop Donald Trump’s extreme abortion bans.” Major Democratic fundraiser George Clooney, who used a New York Times essay to call on Biden to drop out of the race, pledged his support to Harris and Barbra Streisand said she would support Harris because she had vowed to fight for reproductive rights. Musician John Legendwho appeared at the 2024 Democratic National Convention, posted that he was “so ready” for a Harris presidency. Director Spike Lee“West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin, director Ken Burns and Star Wars actors Mark Hamill supported Harris, along with actresses Rosie O’Donnell And Jamie Lee Curtis. Robert De Nirocommenting on a Biden campaign ad, praised the president’s “selfless patriotism” in a statement that did not mention Harris but said, “There is nothing more important for our country than defeating Donald Trump at the ballot box.” British pop artist Charli XCX brought Harris into the Gen Z community by tweeting, “Kamala IS a brat,” an affirmation that Harris’ team responded to by changing the background image on her X account to the “brat” green color and using the same font used on Charli XCX’s album of the same name. Rapper Cary B, who said in May that she would not support Biden, tweeted: “AHAHAHAHA HERE WE GO, I TOLD YOU KAMALA SHOULD BE THE 2024 CANDIDATE…” Pop musician Kesha said she plans to support Harris in November and, when asked what she thinks about Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance, replied, “Fuck the man.” Beyonce has not publicly endorsed the campaign, but gave the Harris campaign permission to use her song “Freedom” in a video of her first official visit to her campaign headquarters, a rare endorsement from the superstar musician. Beyoncé’s mother and businesswoman Tina Knowles supported Harris with an Instagram post. The former president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, as well as former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, have also pledged their support for Harris. The former President Jimmy Carter99, reportedly told his son last week that he wanted to live to see his 100th birthday so he could vote for Kamala Harris. The “Sex and the City” actress and former New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon supported Harris and her vice presidential candidate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, in a post with the text: “I’m waltzing on air!” Billionaire Mark Cuban, who had previously stated that he was determined to vote for Biden, also endorsed Harris and spoke out in favor of Walz as her running mate, calling him someone “who can sit at the kitchen table and make you feel like you’ve known him forever.” Actor Tony GoldwynRepublican political commentator Ana Navarrocomedian Mindy Kaling and actress Kerry Washington each of them supported the Harris and Walz campaign by hosting an evening of the Democratic National Convention.

Which other celebrities have supported Trump?

Former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan ripped off his shirt on stage at the Republican National Convention last month, revealing a Trump-Vance campaign shirt underneath. He called Trump his “hero” and the “greatest president in the United States.” Musician Children’s skirt has openly expressed his support for Trump in the past and reworked his song “American Bad Ass” at the RNC to include references to Trump. UFC president and personality Dana White called Trump the “toughest, most resilient human being.” Rapper and reality TV star Amber Rose gave a speech at the RNC in support of Trump. Country music stars Chris Janson And Jason Aldean Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy in January said voting for Trump over Biden was a “no-brainer.” Billionaires with public influence like Elon Musk And Steve Wynn have also supported the former president. Actress Rosanne Barr, a longtime conservative supporter of Trump, responded to Cuban’s support of the Harris-Waltz candidate, calling the vice president’s choice “another reason why Harris is a disaster.” Jon Voight has defended Trump several times. 50 cents‘s 2023 song “Many Men (Wish Death)” began trending online following the assassination attempt on Trump last month. The rapper responded by putting Trump’s face on the cover of his “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” While that response can hardly be called an official endorsement, he did appear to support the president in 2020 before apparently backing down. Other celebrities who have supported Trump in the past but have not yet openly endorsed him this election season include Lil Wayne and “Happy Days” star Scott Baio.

Who didn’t support Trump or Harris?

Among the prominent names missing from the list of public supporters is billionaire Michael Bloombergwho described the decision as “too important to rush” and Taylor Swiftwho pledged his support for Biden in the last election cycle, has not endorsed a candidate.
