NORTH TEXAS — The legendary rivalry between the TCU Horned Frogs and the SMU Mustangs continues Saturday at the Battle for the Iron Skillet at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas. Both teams have 2-1 records, setting the stage for an exciting duel.
Even the mayors of Fort Worth and Dallas have been lambasting each other this week. Before the big game, numerous festivities began.
Mockingbird Station is located across from Southern Methodist University and was packed with fans of all ages ahead of the Iron Skillet college football showdown between Texas Christian University and SMU.
The fun includes an inflatable area with a mechanical bull, axe throwing and a Velcro wall. The pregame party also features life-sized games like Connect Four, photo moments, 3D chalk art of an iron skillet and special offers from Mockingbird Station businesses.
“I think this is a great opportunity for people to have some fun before the legendary TCU-SMU rivalry. It will be the last game to be held in Dallas, so it’s a pretty big deal,” said Carley Jacobs, Sandbox VR’s central district manager.
